29.11.2022 10:44

MAUN Coordinatorship of Scientific Journals was established under the presidency of Prof. Ulaş Çaydaş in order to organize and supervise the institutional unity and quality control of scientific publications published or soon to be published at MAUN.

The Coordinatorship aims to ensure that the publications are prepared with a common publication strategy based on scientific and ethical principles and that they are accepted by national/international high-level indexes. The coordinatorship, which will serve on the 1st floor of the TABKOP building, will ensure the continuity of the journals and provide technical infrastructure and strategic support to academicians.

Vice Rector and Unit Coordinator, Prof. Ulaş Çaydaş stated that they will carry out a regular and effective work on the issues falling within the scope of the Coordination's field of activity. Çaydaş said “As the coordinatorship, we will monitor and control the digital publication of our scientific publications and the printing processes. In addition, as the coordinatorship, we will provide technical support to events such as national and international congresses, conferences, symposiums, workshops and meetings to be held at MAUN. I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Fethi Ahmet Polat, who has never stopped supporting us in the establishment of this coordinatorship, which will play a significant role in the development of our university."

Making a statement on the subject Rector Polat emphasized the importance of academic publishing by expressing that scientific publications are of vital importance for universities. Rector Polat also said, “Thanks to this coordinatorship, all publications at our university will continue their publication life in line with certain scientific and ethical principles. The fact that the publications will be controlled from a single center will make it easier to solve the problems experienced in terms of publishing and to follow the index application processes. In this way, I believe that the continuity of all our journals will increase within the framework of a common publication policy. I would like to thank the coordinating board, especially our Vice Rector Ulaş Çaydaş, for the great effort and dedication they have shown in the establishment of the coordinatorship, and wish the unit to be beneficial to our university.”
